Permanent marking > Electrochemical marking

What is Electrochemical Marking ?

The electrochemical marking (sometimes called electrolytic marking) ensures a permanent marking , without "stress" on the majority of conducting metals, even the hardest (such as carbide).
The process is very simple to implement and economical. The range of equipment allows a manual or semi-automatic and automatic marking.
The marking area can be both flat or cylindrical.
It is possible to mark: numbers, logos including complex ones, bar codes, 2D codes (Data Matrix)

Principle of electrochemical marking:

Create a chemical reaction between a solution called electrolyte and the metal. This reaction can only take place when there is a low voltage electric current.
It is therefore necessary to have:
- a marking unit which generates the current (= generator )
- a stencil defining the marking area
- an electrolyte which will create the chemical reaction
- a print head (electrode) which will bring the electric current

Marking unit range:

ME3000S
For small to medium series carried out manually
Optional temporisation
Electronic protection
Oxidant marking or engraved
3 settings for output tensions
10 Amp maxi

ME3000T
Advanced electronic capabilities from an electronic viewpoint:
Very accurate temporisation (compulsory on Titanium)
Presetting memorisation
Oxidant marking or engraved, or automatic engraving/oxidant cycle
Article counter
2 line-LCD screen
Multi-socket for using accessories (pneumatic appliances)
10 Amp or 20 Amp maxi

ME96
100 Amp maxi unit, allowing the marking of very big distortion grids, supplied with a stainless steel trigger control roller marker (280 mm).

Range of pneumatic brackets:

ME3000P
Pneumatic unit, compact semi-automatic allowing the marking of small to medium-sized parts. Ideal for the marking of knives, tools, of precision pieces, etc
Fitted with an electronically controlled electrolyte pump
Cylinder run: 50 mm
Is equipped with a ME3000T generator (see above)

Range of stencils:

REPETITIVE MARKING: PHOTOGRAPHIC STENCILS

For big series or no variable markings.
They are made with woven fabric and can mark several hundred times.
They are available in different kinds : stripes, frames, caps.
Thanks to photographic process, the marking is excellent.

VARIABLE MARKINGS : THERMAL PRINTERS

These printers can print stencil papers economically with good or excellent resolution (according to the model).

PT3600 Printer
High resolution (360 dpi). Entirely autonomous or with a PC connection (software and link provided). Uses 24 mm x 3 m stencil paper cartridge.
It can also make labels with adhesive tapes.

PT2480 Printer
Medium resolution (180 dpi). Entirely autonomous on battery. It’s not PC connectable but can receive files with USB connection.
Low price, reliable. Uses 24 mm x 3 m stencil paper cartridge.
It can also make labels with adhesive tape.

B-SV4D Printer
Resolution: 200 dpi, to be connected with a PC. Allows big size makings: uses 12 mm x 50 m POD stencil paper rolls.

TLP3844 Printer
300 dpi, to be connected with a PC, cutter available. Allows big size makings. Especially useful for marking bar codes and data matrix.

VARIABLE MARKINGS: TRADITIONAL STENCIL PAPER
This kind of paper is used by typewriters or by 24-dot-matrix printers. But now, papers printed with thermal printers are more used because of convenient reasons.
